Pilots report Avlite Systems' Solar-Powered Airstrip Lights are FANTASTIC
'The Avlite lights are fantastic… approaching from the east at 90 degrees to the runway the lights are visible from 5 GPS miles'. - That’s the report from pilots in Queensland Australia currently undergoing trials of the AV60 solar-powered light with the intention of using them Australia-wide as emergency runway lights.
Avlite Systems' innovative range offers a worry-free alternative to older style airstrip lights requiring constant battery and globe replacement. The Avlite units are solar-powered and use LEDs as a light source - eliminating ongoing maintenance and wiring. Customers installing units today can expect their next battery replacement towards the end of 2009. Bad news for battery manufacturers…. good news for airfield operators.
