Avlite Supplies a Custom-built Portable Airfield Lighting System for the Pakistan CAA
Avlite has designed and custom built a Portable Airfield Lighting System for the Pakistan CAA for use at remote airfields in Multan and surrounding towns. The system can be easily transported for convenient and fast installation.
Avlite were visited by representatives from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Karsaz (Pvt.) Limited to perform a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) on the Portable Airfield Lighting System. The radio controlled AVC420 and AV70 aviation lights were put through a series of tests and the team from Pakistan were shown how to operate the system.
The CAA manages the majority of civilian airports in Pakistan and has been working to bring the country’s aviation and infrastructure and facilities to a level which equals some of the best aviation facilities in the world. As a regulatory body, the CAA ensures conformity to the standards laid down by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
Avlite’s Portable Airfield Lighting System is destined for Multan where it will be used for emergency requirements at remote airstrips in the Multan area where the hard wired infrastructure of a conventional airfield is not available.
Portability of the lights was an important feature and Avlite solved this problem by creating a system consisting of a purpose-built trailer to house the lights, mounts and communication system allowing for convenient and rapid deployment. Because the radio controller and Pilot Activated System (PALC) are contained within the trailer, the system is able to be easily positioned anywhere on an airfield to achieve the fastest response time between the communication system and the airfield lights.
Once again Avlite’s innovation and expertise has resulted in the perfect solution to
successfully meet their customer’s requirements.
