Grand Bahamas Installs Avlite Solar Taxiway Lighting System
Grand Bahamas International Airport (GBIA) has recently ordered solar powered taxiway edge lights from Avlite Systems.
Working with Avlite’s teaming partner Aviation Renewables, GBIA was able to identify the best solution for their needs.
GBIA required a reliable, high quality solar powered taxiway edge light to replace a previously installed non-serviceable taxiway lighting system.
By choosing the Avlite AV70, the airport will be able to provide dusk till dawn solar taxiway edge lighting with no requirement for infrastructure, energy costs, maintenance or carbon powered electrical systems.
A high profile tourist destination and one of the leading international airports in the Caribbean, GBIA continues to invest is environmentally sustainable lighting and power solutions.
Grand Bahama Airport Company (GBAC) owns and operates the Grand Bahama International Airport, which is situated only 65 miles from Florida and capable of handling the largest aircrafts in the world. GBAC is a joint venture between the Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) Group and the Grand Bahama Development Company.
