Avlite Aviation Lights Improve Helipad Safety at Queensland's Major Heart Specialist Hospital
Avlite Systems was recently chosen as the supplier for aviation lighting products for the helicopter landing site at the The Prince Charles Hospital because it is an Australian company that supplies quality lighting suited to the extreme Queensland environment.
The Avlite products fit the hospital’s aim of having a helipad that is completely “green friendly” and reliable in all weather conditions.
20pc AV310 green lights for the take-off and landing area, 4pc blue AV420 approach lights and 20pc AV60 red hazard lights were installed at the landing site.
The Prince Charles Hospital Helicopter Landing Site is located in Chermside, Queensland, and is a welcome addition to services at the cardio thoracic hospital. The main users of the helicopter landing site are Emergency Management Queensland, RACQ Careflight, Westpac Rescue and Energex Community Rescue helicopters.
"As The Prince Charles Hospital is the heart specialist hospital in Queensland it was important that we increased our services by constructing a state of the art helipad to deliver better service to the Queensland public. The most impressive thing I liked about Avlite products was the quality and ease of installation.”
– Michael Maas, Fire Protection & Security Services, Prince Charles Hospital
