Avlite Makes Technology Breakthrough in Wireless Controlled Solar LED Taxiway Lights

ICAO Approved AV70 Solar Taxiway Light shown with Internal RF Module

Avlite Systems is pleased to announce the release of wireless control for the AV70 solar airfield lights.

The AV70 solar-powered LED airfield light is one of the most popular products in the Avlite range, with thousands of installations in many parts of the world.

Utilising a sophisticated RF module in each light, the AV70 light can now be remotely controlled using a wireless handheld controller.

The wireless handheld controller enables personnel to remotely activate and set specific characteristics of lights within their airfield, via 128-bit encrypted RF data.

The system is designed to offer airports, defence, and aid agencies complete flexibility and enormous advantages over traditional fixtures.

Major Benefits include:

  • Control airfield lights remotely via handheld radio controller
  • Shut down or turn on lights within seconds
  • Allocate lights into ‘light groups’ and remotely control each group
  • Change light colours by selecting between internal LED light banks
  • Switch between infrared and visual light – perfect for defence applications
  • Set units to synchronised flashing, or flare path
  • Encrypted data – ensures security of commands sent to lights

Avlite Systems’ AV70 Solar LED Aviation Light is one of the most popular products for taxiway and remote airfield illumination, and is the only product of its kind to incorporate short-range wireless control. The model is ICAO-certified for taxiway use & only 1.2kg in weight, making it easy to deploy with a long service life of up to 12 years.
