Orlando International Airport Installs Avlite AV23 Solar Obstruction Lights
Orlando International Airport has selected the Avlite Systems AV23 model for self-contained obstruction lighting. The airport is the 3rd largest in the USA with over 870 domestic and international flights per day.
Shipped overnight from Avlite’s North Carolina office, the units are completely self-contained and available for immediate installation and operation.
The AV23 incorporates a large 12watt solar module, 7.5Ah battery, LED light source and advanced driving circuitry- one of the most reliable and maintenance-free solar-powered obstruction lights available.
The solar panel continues to charge the battery during daylight hours, and at night the unit automatically begins operations. LED technology and advanced circuitry allows the light to operate unattended for years.
In addition, the AV23 has been independently tested in accordance with the requirements of the photometric and colormetric specifications for a Low Intensity Type A Obstacle Light listed in table 6-3 of ICAO Annex 14 Volume 1, ‘Aerodrome Design and Operations’, Forth Edition July 2004.
