Avlite Systems Lights up LionOre Nickel Mines with Solar LED Airfield Lights
Avlite Systems authorised Western Australia agent Aerodrome Management Services Pty Ltd (AMS) has successfully installed complete airfield lighting systems for LionOre Australia (Nickel) Ltd.
Leading aerodrome consultants Aerodrome Management Services (www.ams-australia.com.au) were contracted by LionOre to supply and install the Avlite Systems lights at a number of temporary mining airfields across Western Australia.
LionOre selected the solar airfield lights for installations at the Emily Ann and Maggie Hays mines in Western Australia.
The company now joins a long list of mining leaders realising the enormous benefits in the Avlite range of solar-powered airfield lights – ideal for fast, cost-effective deployment.
At the close of a mining operation, maintenance officers can simply collect and transfer the compact light units to their new mining location for immediate installation and service.
The system deployed at LionOre includes AV70 solar airstrip, threshold, taxiway and corner lights. In addition, Avlite AV09-4WL Solar-Powered Windsock Light Kit’s were installed – complete stand-alone LED emergency windsock lights.
Managing Director of AMS, Mr Kevin Thomas, is an approved person under CASR 139.320 to conduct aerodrome safety inspections and has over twenty years experience as both a private and government aerodrome inspector.
Avlite Business Development Manager Mr Eamonn Downes (e.downes@avlite.com) commented, “the uptake of our lights in the mining sector has been fantastic – for the first time they can use a product that is not only affordable and maintenance-free, but is really, really effective”.
